Learn about our community gardens and help with our plant giveaway! Join in community with our gardeners and Connectors to share the joy of growing plants. We will meet at the Sharing Our Roots community garden at 11:00 am and make our way to the Faribault garden around 2:30pm. Volunteers will help giveaway plants in addition to preparing different orders (organizing labels & trays).
You are welcome to join for part or all of the event!
We will be walking around the gardens so please wear clothes/shoes that can get dirty, bring a water bottle, and have sunscreen on hand! If you plan to stay the whole time, please bring your own lunch or snack to stay nourished.
Volunteer Day Itinerary:
11am plants arrive to community garden at 4905 315th St. W Northfield, MN.
Gardeners in Northfield will come to SOR farm to pick up plants
2.5 hours to handout plants to the Gardeners.
1:30-2pm travel to Cannon River Park community garden at 1503 Hulett Ave Faribault, Minnesota.
2pm arrive at Cannon River Park to give plant to gardeners.
2-5pm deliver plants to the rest of gardeners in Faribault
5-5:30pm delivery is completed and extra plants stored safely for people to pick up in the next couple of days.
