Farm Team

Nicole Westlund

Farm Cohort Coordinator (she/her)

Nicole was born and raised in the Twin Cities. In 2019, she was introduced to organic farming when she worked as an intern on the UMN Organic Research farm in St. Paul. During the pandemic, she became involved in youth work and community programming, but she always found herself carving out spaces for community gardens, food education, and connecting folks to the land. She is drawn to places that weave together agriculture and relationship—centered practices, creating environments where both land and people can flourish.

Nicole was drawn to Sharing Our Roots because it is a beautiful mix of farming, conservation, community building and power-sharing. She is excited to assist Sharing Our Roots in redefining what it means to be stewards for better food, better land and better people practices.

In her free time, you’ll probably find Nicole practicing yoga, planning her next road trip, or strolling along shores of the Mississippi with her dog, Tina.
