Maggie Momyani

Farmer Mentor (she/her)

Maggie Momanyi is a farmer, mentor, and community leader passionate about strengthening local food systems and supporting beginning farmers in Minnesota. She is the founder of Mom’s Organic Farms and Director of Emerging Women Immigrant Farmers (EWIF) Cooperative, where she works alongside immigrant and BIPOC farmers to grow fresh, locally produced vegetables using sustainable farming practices. Through her work, Maggie helps farmers build skills in crop planning, greenhouse/high tunnel production, food safety, and market access while encouraging confidence and long-term success in agriculture.

In addition to her farming experience, Maggie has an extensive professional background in Human Resources, where she spent many years supporting and mentoring employees in large organizations through training, communication, and employee relations. Her HR experience has strengthened her ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, provide compassionate guidance, and create supportive learning environments. As an immigrant farmer herself, Maggie understands the importance of creating welcoming spaces where farmers from diverse backgrounds can learn, connect, and thrive. She believes farming is not only a way to nourish communities, but also a tool for empowerment, economic opportunity, and social connection.
