Grace Wallace-Jackson
Administrative Coordinator (she/her)
Grace is from Hopkins, Minnesota, where she grew up longing for a way to connect to the natural world amid the chaos of city life. She spent her childhood backpacking along the Superior Hiking Trail and fell in love with the outdoors. She is currently engaged to the son of farmers in the Webster area who have been practicing organic mixed-crop agriculture for more than 100 years. Participating and learning more about food production has changed the way she consumes and navigates the world. She believes that access to culturally significant and organic food nourishes not only our bodies, but our minds and spirits.
As a Spanish major at Carleton College she researched communities all over Spain that have been using a commons model for centuries to sustain their food production, as well as their cultural, social, and educational networks. The success of these collectivist communities propelled her to find people and organizations in Minnesota that have similar values and methods of sustainability, conservation, regenerative agriculture, and food security. She came across Sharing Our Roots and is overjoyed to be part of this team and get to help transform our community.
